The One About Hair

Dear Students,

I thought that you might enjoy taking a quick look at the spring quarter course blog--I'm still working on it. Does the picture of Lady Godiva in the backgroun remind you of anybody?

  1. The background reminds me of the scene in Like Water when Gertrudis consumes the quail dish and runs off to the shower. When the shower catches on fire, she is swept off her feet by a revolutionary. This picture looks like the scene she has sex with him on the horse.

(That is an image I hope to forget haha)

  2. It totally looks like Gertrudis!! I think its the combination of the curly red hair, the nudity, and a horse! (she is very strategically placed by the way, good job!)

  3. I think that it will be a smooth transition from thinking of definitions of femininity in terms of food and the relationship between food and love and food and sex to thinking of them in terms of hair. Red hair, in the case of Gertrudis and in the case of Lady Godiva is a marker for sexual liberation. They have hair the color of fire!
